Candy Corn Margarita

This refreshing drink was created using Sweet ‘N Low® as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #donthesitaste

Halloween will be here before we know it.  This is the time of year when I have to start planning for Halloween parties.  I love any excuse to have a party or to go to a party.  However, the worst part of that is when I am at parties I eat so much.  This is especially so at Halloween parties when there is so much candy.  I decided to create a great alcoholic drink for Halloween that has less calories, so I don’t feel bad about eating all the candy.

I used Sweet’N Low® to sweeten my drink up instead of sugar. Sweet’N Low® is a zero calorie sweetener that helps you enjoy a sweet drink without all the extra calories.  By substituting Sweet’N Low® for sugar it helps you to reduce calories in drink recipes.  Plus it is diabetic friendly.  I love the fact that I can have a sweet drink without all the extra calories.

When I think of Halloween one of the first candies that I think of is candy corn.  I am actually not a huge fan of candy corn but I think it is so pretty and I love the colors.  I decided to make a layered margarita that would be perfect for Halloween as it contains all the colors of candy corn.

This margarita actually does not taste like candy corn it is just named that due to the coloring of the different layers.  There are three different layers in this frozen margarita: the orange/reddish layer is a strawberry, orange, pineapple margarita, the yellow layer is an orange margarita, and the white layer is a coconut margarita.

This Candy Corn Margarita tastes delicious and is the perfect cocktail for Halloween.  I love how festive it looks and I think it would be great served at any Halloween party.  I really love the fruit frozen margarita layers together and they look so festive too.  Now my margarita was perfectly layered, but by as the margarita melts it starts to bleed together.  By the time I went to photograph it, it had mixed a little bit, but I still think that it looks great.

I used Sweet’N Low®  to lower the amount of calories in the drink while still getting the same sweet taste. You could also make a nonalcoholic version for the kids by just leaving out the alcohol.  I really liked this margarita and think it would make a great addition to your Halloween party!

Candy Corn Margarita

Ingredients

  •  !Frozen Strawberry Orange Pineapple Margaritas
  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
  • 1/2 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup pineapple
  • 2/3 cup orange juice
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2 packets Sweet’N Low®
  • Ice
  • Frozen Orange Margarita
  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
  • 1/3 cup orange juice
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2 packets Sweet’N Low®
  • Ice
  • Frozen Coconut Margarita
  • 1 ounce silver tequila
  • 1/2 ounce Triple Sec
  • 1/3 cup coconut milk (I used canned coconut milk)
  • Juice of 1/2 lime
  • 2 packets Sweet’N Low®
  • Ice
  • Optional garnish
  • Margarita salt or sugar
  • Lime
  • Candy Corn

Instructions

  1. For each layer, all add of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.  I started with about a cup of ice for each one and added more to thicken the margarita up.  Pour the margarita into a container and freeze until ready to layer. Wash the blender and continue to blend each layer.
  2. Rim your glass with margarita salt or sugar.  To layer the margaritas start with the yellow layer, the orange margarita, and spoon it into your glass until the glass is 1/3 fill.  Then carefully spoon in the strawberry orange pineapple margarita to the glass filling up the second 1/3.  Start filling in on the sides and then in the middle to make sure the colors don't bleed.  Then layer the coconut margarita on top and carefully spoon it on to the last 1/3 of the glass.  Garnish with a lime and a piece of candy corn.
  3. This makes about 2 candy corn margaritas.  Or double the recipe and serve each up separately.

  1. I’m slightly disappointed that this margarita doesn’t actually taste like candy corn, but it doesn’t matter. It’s gorgeous and it’s looks fun. And low-calorie booze is always a winner in my book.

  2. YUM! This cocktail looks and sounds delicious!
