Blackberry Sage Lemonade

About a month ago to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary, my husband and I went on a date to the Melting Pot.  We like fondue and had always wanted to try the place.  We decided to go and our dinner was so delicious.  When I was there I decided to order a Blackberry Sage Lemonade.  I wasn’t so sure about the flavor but our waitress highly recommended it, so I decided to get it.  The lemonade was so good that I decided to recreate my own version of it.
My family all loved the lemonade as well and my son asked me if I would make it for his birthday party.  I doubled the batch for the birthday party so that it would serve a lot of people.  Everyone raved about the lemonade.  I bought this cute mason jar drink dispenser and that is what we served the lemonade in at the party.  The lemonade was such a big hit at my son’s birthday party that I plan on serving it at my other son’s birthday party in September.
This Blackberry Sage Lemonade is such a refreshing drink that is great for any occasion.  I really loved the combination of the lemons and blackberries.  Blackberries have such a strong flavor that goes great with the lemons.  The sage adds a lemony flavor as well as a little bit of a herbal flavor.  These three flavors combine really well together to create this fantastic lemonade.
I made this by combining a blackberry syrup with fresh lemonade and then sage.  If you want to make more, just double the recipe.  I think this is the best flavor of lemonade that I have ever tasted and this will be made again and again in our family.  I hope you enjoy it!





Blackberry Sage Lemonade


  • 2 cups (12 ounces) blackberries
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 cup lemon juice (about 6 lemons)
  • 12 sage leaves
  • Ice


  1. Combine the sugar, 2 cups of water, and the blackberries in a small saucepan.  Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring to make sure that the sugar has dissolved.  Boil for 1-2 minutes or until the syrup turns purple.  Remove from the heat and allow the syrup to cool for about 30 minutes.
  2. Once the syrup has cooled strain out the blackberries if desired (I just poured them all into the lemonade).  In a pitcher combine the syrup, lemon juice, 6 cups water, and the sage leaves.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to drink.  Serve over ice.  Garnish with additional blackberries and lemon slices.
