Banana Split Dip

I cannot believe that it is almost August.  My birthday is coming up in the middle of August.  I always look forward to August as well because that means that football is starting up soon.  We are huge football fans in my house and we love to watch and root on the Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  This will be our second year having Eagles season tickets, and I will be going to 2 games this year.  I can’t wait to see the Eagles and the Bucs play each other.

My husband is a huge Eagles fan and because of that I will root for the Eagles but I am first of all mostly a Bucs fan.  A lot of people wonder why I am a Tampa Bay fan when I live in central Pennsylvania.   My brother is also a huge Eagles fans, but he is very obnoxious about it.  Because of the way that he acted, I grew up not liking the Eagles at all.
The year that my husband and I started dating, Tampa Bay and Philadelphia played in the NFC Championship.  I didn’t really have an allegiance to a team at that point.  I liked one of the players from the Bucs due to a TV special I saw about him, so I decided to root for him and the Bucs.  I had so much fun rooting for them against the Eagles, I continued to root for the Bucs in the Superbowl.  My husband jokingly says that I am a band wagon fan, but I have been a Bucs fan for over 10 years through all of their ups (the Superbowl) and through a whole lot of downs.

I can’t wait to see our favorite teams go at it this year.  My husband has strongly advised that I not wear my Bucs jersey to the game since it is a home game for the Eagles and he is afraid of the reaction of the Philly fans.  I plan on wearing red under my jacket and secretly rooting for the Bucs.
So what does this have to do with dessert dip, you ask?  Well I love dessert dips, there is nothing better than a dessert and appetizer rolled into one.  One of my favorite time to make dessert dips is for football games.  With football pre-season starting in a few weeks, I decided to make a delicious dessert dip for you to indulge in while the games are on.  If you don’t like football, just use it as an excuse to indulge in this fantastic dip! Nothing says summer to me like banana splits, so I decided to make you all a Banana Split Dip.

This Banana Split Dip was amazing and tasted just like a banana split.  The main flavor in this dip is banana, but it also incorporates the typical banana split toppings of strawberries and pineapples.  It also has whipped cream in it!  I then topped the dip with chocolate syrup and nuts.  This dip tasted great with cinnamon pita chips and fruit, my favorite being strawberries.  This dip is perfect for your next party or for eating while watching a sporting event.  I hope you enjoy this perfect summer dip!
