Bacon Pepperoni Pizza Cheese Ball

Now that the teams playing in the football championship have been decided, I figured that I should start deciding what I want to make for the big game.  Really I am a football fan, but unless my team is playing I don’t usually care much about the game.  My favorite part is the food and I always like to watch the commercials too.  We always like to make a bunch of appetizers and have a mini party at our house with just my family while watching the game.
One of my favorite appetizers to make to eat while watching football and for parties are cheese balls.  They are not hard to make and they feed a lot of people.  Plus they seem really fancy, even though there is not a lot that goes into them.  One of my favorite dinners to eat while watching sports is pizza.  We always make sure to order some pizza for the big game.  I decided to combine my favorite appetizer with my favorite dinner and create a pizza cheese ball.
This Bacon Pepperoni Pizza Cheese Ball is a delicious appetizer and would be perfect to have while watching sports or for any party.  The cheese ball tastes like a pepperoni pizza with a mixture of cream cheese, mozzarella cheese, marinara sauce, and pepperoni.  The whole outside is then covered in bacon.  I served the cheese ball with crackers, but you could also serve it with vegetables.
You can’t get any better than this cheese ball. I made this cheese ball for a party at my in-laws over the holidays and everyone was also watching the college football games.  This cheese ball was a big hit.  We plan on making it again while we watch the big game in two weeks.  I hope you enjoy it!

Bacon Pepperoni Pizza Cheese Ball

  • 1 package (8 ounces ) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped pepperoni
  • 2 tablespoons marinara sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 cup chopped bacon (I used real bacon bits)

  1. In a large bowl, mix the cream cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, Italian seasoning, and marinara sauce until combined. Then form into a ball.
  2. Place the chopped bacon on a plate and roll the ball in the bacon. Make sure to press the bacon into the cheese ball until it is fully covered. Then place the ball on a large piece of plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
  4. It may be easier to freeze the ball for about 1 1/2 hours in the plastic wrap before putting the bacon on. This will allow the cheese ball to form its shape and makes it easier to work with. Then refrigerate for about 30 minutes before serving.
  5. Serve with crackers or vegetables.
