When the holidays come around I always love to make festive treats that are associated with that particular holiday.  For Thanksgiving I always like to make a fun dessert for the kids.  One of my favorite treats to make festive are OREO Cookie Balls.  They are so easy to make and easy to personalize for the holidays.
I wanted something fun to make for my son’s Halloween party at school and also wanted a treat that would work equally well as a fun dessert for Thanksgiving.  When I think of this time of year the first thing that comes to mind are pumpkins.  Pumpkin pie is one of my favorite desserts for Thanksgiving and I thought it would be fun to make OREO Cookie Balls shaped as pumpkins.  My husband, sons, and I headed to Walmart to pick up the ingredients for our fun recipe.
We headed to the cookie aisle to pick up some OREO’s for the OREO Cookie Ball Recipe.  I decided to make Pumpkin OREO Cookie Balls.  Not only do these Cookie Balls look like pumpkins, they also taste like pumpkin pie.  These are the perfect dessert for Thanksgiving.  Plus its a great dessert for the kids to help make.  We picked up some Golden OREO’s and the other ingredients that we needed and headed home to make our delicious recipe.
These Pumpkin OREO Cookie Balls were a big hit at my son’s party and will be a great addition to our dessert table on Thanksgiving. I used the basic recipe for OREO Cookie Balls and added my own own touches to make them the perfect treat for Thanksgiving.
The Cookie Balls are shaped like pumpkins on the outside and on the inside have a creamy pumpkin pie taste made from the combination of Golden OREO’s, cream cheese,  pumpkin puree, and pumpkin pie spice.  My son and I plan on making these again for Thanksgiving.  He loved them and I love that he can help contribute to our meal.  If you are looking for a great and fun dessert for Thanksgiving, make sure you try these Pumpkin OREO Cookie Balls!
