Now that I am lactose intolerant, out of the things that I cannot eat, ice cream is one of the ones that I miss the most. I used to eat a bowl of ice cream every night (I know that’s not really healthy, but it is oh so good). I used to drink milkshakes all the time too.
Milkshakes are the perfect drink for summer/spring, because they can cool you down without the mess of ice cream melting all over the place. Plus they are always very refreshing. I have not had a milkshake since they started to make me sick, so I decided to make a dairy free milkshake so that I and anyone else that cannot have dairy can enjoy them. I decided to make the milkshake using some of my favorite flavors, salted caramel and chocolate.
This Dairy Free Salted Caramel Chocolate Milkshake tastes fantastic. I used chocolate almond milk and dairy free vanilla almond ice cream (made with almond milk) to make the milkshake. The almond flavor of the milk and ice cream did add a little additional flavor to the milkshake, but I thought it tasted fantastic with the chocolate and salted caramel flavors. You can also feel free to use any dairy free ice cream or milk that you want.
This milkshake tasted really great and was really refreshing. I really liked the combination of the chocolate almond milk, vanilla almond ice cream, and salted caramel sauce. It all combined well to make a fantastic dairy free drink. Even though my husband and son can have dairy they also enjoyed this milkshake. I hope you try this fabulous treat!
