Cheddar Pulled Pork Crostini

During football playoff season, I love making different appetizers for the games.  For the Superbowl, we always have a lot of different appetizers and sometimes we will even throw a party.  Unfortunately our favorite team, the Eagles, lost last week, but we will still watch the playoffs and Superbowl.
The thing I love most about the Superbowl is gathering a whole bunch of friends together and just having a lot of fun.  There is always good food and it is always fun to pick a team to root for to win.  For the Superbowl , I go all out and make a bunch of appetizers.  Last week I made a lot of pulled pork in the crock pot, so I decided to use some of the leftover pulled pork and make an appetizer that would be great to eat while watching football or great for any party.
This Cheddar Pulled Pork Crostini is so easy to make and is the perfect appetizer for any party.  I used the leftover pulled pork I had, but you can use any kind of pulled pork you have on hand.  The pulled pork is then topped with a slice of Sharp Cheddar Cheese.  The taste of the pork with the cheddar cheese on the toasted bread tastes fantastic.
These little appetizers tasted so good, I love that these are really easy to make and that I can throw them together before a party.  These are also a great way to use leftover pulled pork. I hope that you try these delicious appetizers at your next party!

Cheddar Pulled Pork Crostini

Yield: About 40 crostini

Cheddar Pulled Pork Crostini

  • 1 baguette, thinly sliced (or buy a pre-sliced baguette)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/2 cups pulled pork (I used leftover Crock Pot Barbecue Pineapple Pulled Pork)
  • Thinly sliced Sharp Cheddar Cheese (I used 1 Cracker Barrel Sharp Cheddar Cheese 10 ounce package)

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Put the olive oil in a small bowl. Then brush both sides of the baguette slices with the olive oil. Then place the baguette slices on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the slices for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Once the bread is done, top each piece of bread with about 1/2 tablespoon of pulled pork. Then place a slice of cheddar cheese on top of the pulled pork.
  4. Bake for 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the pork is hot.

If you are using leftover pulled pork you do not need to heat it up before placing on the crostini. Just make sure that it is done before pulling out of the oven.
