Salted Caramel Chocolate Dip

I hope that everyone had a great holiday.  I cannot believe that this year is almost over, it has gone way too fast.  My favorite part of the holidays is all the parties and party food.  I feel that New Year’s Eve is the last party day before I need to start to try to eat healthy again.  Due to that I always love to have lots of desserts and appetizers for New Year’s Eve.  Do you have a big celebration for New Year’s?  We used to get together with a small group of friends, but that is harder now that we have kids, so usually my husband and I will make a few appetizers and have a little date night once Aaron goes to bed.  We always have fun and there is always good food involved!
I love making all different types of appetizers for New Year’s Eve, especially dessert appetizers.  Dessert appetizers are one of my favorites, because it is an appetizer and dessert combined.  One of my new favorite flavor combinations is salted caramel and chocolate, yum! I decided to make a yummy dessert dip that combines the great flavors of salted caramel and chocolate.
This Salted Caramel Chocolate Dip would be a great dessert dip or appetizer for any party.  This dip was delicious and I could not stop eating it.  I could have just sat there and ate the dip with a spoon.  I loved the flavor of the salted caramel combined with the chocolate.  This dip tasted great with graham crackers or pretzels.  I think it would also be good served with vanilla wafers or fruit as well.  I can’t wait to make this dip again and I hope that you try it!


Salted Caramel Chocolate Dip

Salted Caramel Chocolate Dip


  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup chocolate spread (I used Hershey's Chocolate Spread)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 container (8 ounces) of Cool Whip
  • 1/4 cup caramel ice cream sauce
  • 3/4 teaspoon sea salt


  1. Mix the cream cheese and chocolate spread together.
  2. In a separate bowl mix together the caramel ice cream sauce and 1/2 teaspoon of the sea salt together until combined.
  3. Then gradually stir in the Cool Whip, powdered sugar, and salted caramel into the chocolate cream cheese mixture, until combined.
  4. Drizzle additional caramel ice cream sauce and 1/4 teaspoon sea salt on top of the dip. Chill before serving. Serve with graham crackers, animal crackers, pretzels, vanilla wafers, or fruit.
