Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie

I love making different pies for Thanksgiving and we always have a few pies for dessert.  My husband does not like fruit pies or pumpkin pie.  His favorite pie though, is peanut butter pie and I usually make one for him for Thanksgiving.
I love peanut butter pies as well and I think its one of my favorite types of pie.  I actually never heard of a peanut butter pie until I met my husband. When he told me he didn’t really like pie, I thought he was crazy.  Then he proceeded to tell me that he did like one type of pie, peanut butter pie.  I thought it sounded delicious but had never heard of it.  Once I had a piece I was hooked.
My favorite thing about peanut butter pies are that they are not that hard to make.  It just takes mixing a bunch of ingredients and includes NO BAKING.  This is especially great for Thanksgiving and it can just be made the night before and served for dessert.
I decided to make a variation on peanut butter pie, a salted caramel variation.  I have been obsessed with salted caramel lately and I love how much the salt brings out the flavor of the caramel.  I decided to add salted caramel to peanut butter pie and the result was so yummy!
This Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie is so fantastic.  I love the taste of the salted caramel in every bite of peanut butter pie. We all loved the pie and will definitely be making it again.  I really liked the addition of the salted peanuts and caramel on top as well. This would be a great addition to your Thanksgiving table or a great dessert for any occasion.

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie

Salted Caramel Peanut Butter Pie

  • 9 graham crackers, crushed
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 can (14 ounce can) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup caramel ice cream topping
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tab (8 ounces) Cool Whip, thawed
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts, chopped (optional topping)
  • Additional caramel sauce for drizzling (optional topping)

  1. Take the crushed graham crackers and mix with the melted butter in a pie plate. Press the crust into the bottom of the pie plate.
  2. In a large bowl combine the cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, and powdered sugar. Beat on medium until the mixture is smooth and fully combined.
  3. In a small bowl mix together the caramel sauce and the sea salt until combined. Then stir in the caramel sauce into the pie mixture. Gently fold in the Cool Whip until fully combined. Add the mixture on top of the graham cracker crust.
  4. Cover and refrigerate until set. If needed this can be refrigerated overnight. Before serving add the chopped salted peanuts on top and drizzle additional caramel sauce on top.

If you want more salted caramel flavor you could add another 1/4 caramel sauce and 1 teaspoon of sea salt. I found that the pie required more time to set up when more caramel sauce was added.
