Apple Cider Muddy Buddies

These Apple Cider Muddy Buddies are an easy snack with great apple cider flavor.  It is a perfect snack for fall!

Muddy Buddies or Puppy Chow are one of my favorite snacks because not only are they extremely easy to make, they taste delicious.  Last fall I made Pumpkin Pie Muddy Buddies.  This fall I decided to make apple flavored muddy buddies.
One of our favorite fall drinks is apple cider.  My husband is a huge apple cider fan.  He is not a big fan of anything with cooked apples (what is wrong with him?) but he loves anything with apple cider.  I always know that fall is near when the stores start stocking apple cider.  Because we all love apple cider in our house, I decided to make Apple Cider Muddy Buddies.
These Apple Cider Muddy Buddies were made using apple cider drink mix.  These were delicious and so easy to make. I love that they could be made in a matter of minutes.  They tasted just like apple cider and I really liked the combination of the apple cider flavor with the white chocolate.  We all couldn’t stop eating them.  My husband brought some into work and they were devoured.  This delicious apple cider snack is the perfect snack for fall that can be made in minutes.

Apple Cider Muddy Buddies

  • 5 cups rice Chex cereal
  • 1 bag (12 ounces) white chocolate chips, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 packet (.74 ounces) apple cider mix

  1. Add the powdered sugar and the apple cider mix into a plastic bag and shake to combine.
  2. Put the Chex cereal into a large bowl.
  3. Melt the white chocolate chips in the microwave for 45 seconds and stir until smooth. If not melted, microwave for additional 10 second increments until melted and smooth.
  4. Pour the melted white chocolate over the Chex cereal and mix until the cereal is coated. Add the cereal to the plastic bag with the powdered sugar and apple cider mixture and shake until the cereal is completely covered.

Wonder how this would taste with the Apple Cinnamon Chex instead of the Rice but still use some of the apple cider spice pack.
