Grilled Garlic Parmesan Chicken Drumsticks

These Grilled Garlic Parmesan Chicken Drumsticks are delicious grilled chicken with a garlic parmesan sauce.  A tasty variation on garlic parmesan wings.

During the summer we love making tasty dishes on the grill.  We have a big deep freezer and we always buy different meat on sale and store it in our freezer.  I was looking in the freezer the other week and found a big packet of drumsticks that we had bought.  I needed to figure out something to do with the drumsticks.  Our favorite type of wings are Garlic Parmesan Wings, so we decided to make our Garlic Parmesan Drumsticks and we decided to grill them because it was nice outside.
These drumsticks were really big and we had 5 pounds worth.  If you have less meat just lessen the amount of sauce needed for the recipe.  Also you can also use this recipe to make Garlic Parmesan Wings.  We seasoned the drumsticks and then grilled them.  After grilling them we added the garlic parmesan sauce on top of the chicken.
This Grilled Parmesan Chicken was delicious.  I really loved the combination of the garlic and parmesan flavors with the flavor of the grilled chicken.  This is a great way to get garlic and parmesan wings with the combination of grilled chicken.  I especially liked all the parmesan cheese on top of the chicken as there was some with every bite. There was also a great garlic flavor.  I liked that we could make our favorite wing combination on the grill.  We will definitely be making this again.

Grilled Garlic Parmesan Chicken Drumsticks

These Grilled Garlic Parmesan Chicken Drumsticks are delicious grilled chicken with a garlic parmesan sauce. A delicious variation on garlic parmesan wings.

Ingredients

  • 5 lbs. chicken drumsticks
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Garlic Parmesan Sauce:
  • 3/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon seasoning salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup shredded parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl mix together the garlic powder, seasoning salt, and paprika. Then rub this mixture into the chicken drumsticks, making sure to get under the skin to season the chicken.
  2. Grill the chicken on 425 for about 40 minutes or until the chicken is done.
  3. Meanwhile, in a medium sized bowl, mix together all the ingredients for the garlic parmesan sauce.
  4. When the chicken is done cooking, spoon the garlic parmesan sauce on top of the chicken and serve.

Notes

This recipe can be made using less drumsticks. If you do so just lessen the amount of the seasoning and the sauce. Also you can substitute chicken wings for the chicken drumsticks. The cook time is based on the chicken drumsticks that we made, but it may need less time if you make less drumsticks or make chicken wings, so make sure to adjust the cooking time if needed.
