I have seen recipes for Monkey Bread all over Pinterest and thought that it looked delicious. With my new bundt pan I decided to make my own version of monkey bread. When I saw that Ashton from Something Swanky made Monkey Bread using refrigerated cinnamon buns, I knew that I had to try it. Her version looks so delicious.
I always like making things with refrigerated cinnamon buns, like the Caramel Cinnamon French Toast Bake that I posted earlier this week. I can never get enough chocolate so I decided to make chocolate flavored Monkey Bread.
This Chocolate Cinnamon Monkey Bread uses refrigerated cinnamon buns and add three different types of chocolate. You could even say it is Triple Chocolate Monkey Bread. The cinnamon buns are dunked in a mixture of chocolate pudding and sugar and then chocolate chips are added on top. I decided to use the icing from the cinnamon buns and I added cocoa powder to the icing to make it chocolate flavored.
This monkey bread was so delicious, this makes a great dessert or it would be great for breakfast too. I loved the combination of the chocolate and cinnamon flavor along with the use of the cinnamon buns. Plus this is easy to make. This would be a great breakfast or dessert for Mother’s Day. I know I would love if my family made this for me (hint, hint!). I hope you enjoy this great monkey bread!
