Peanut Butter Cup Bread

One of my favorite candies is peanut butter cups.  I really love the chocolate and peanut butter flavor.  I decided to make bread, with the peanut butter and chocolate flavors.  There is chocolate bread on the bottom, peanut butter bread in the middle, and chocolate bread on the top, just like a peanut butter cup.
On the top I put a layer of peanut butter and added some Mini Reese’s Peanut Butter cups on top.  Since the bread was slightly warm when I put the peanut butter cups on top, they ended up melting onto the bread, creating a great chocolate peanut butter topping.  This bread we so great and I love all the chocolate and peanut butter flavor added into the bread.

Peanut Butter Cup Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup soy milk (can substitute regular milk)
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter chips
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1Topping
  • Peanut butter
  • Mini Peanut Butter Cups

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Beat together the butter and sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Add the eggs until combined. Then add the milk until combined.
  3. Slowly add the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  4. Separate the batter into two different bowls, 1/3 of the batter into one bowl and 2/3 into another bowl.
  5. In the bowl with 1/3 of the batter, blend in the peanut butter until combined. Then gently stir in the peanut butter chips.
  6. In the bowl with 2/3 of the batter, add in the cocoa powder and chocolate chips until combined.
  7. Pour half of the chocolate batter into a greased loaf pan. On top of the chocolate batter add the peanut butter batter. Add the rest of the chocolate batter on top of the peanut butter batter.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool for 20 minutes then remove the bread from the bread pan.
  9. If desired, spread a thin layer of peanut butter on top of the bread and add the peanut butter cups on top of the peanut butter. You can also just melt the peanut butter cups and pour the melted chocolate over the bread.
